Second chances. Real support. Stronger communities.
2nd Opportunity empowers returning citizens, workers, and young people across Fresno and the Central Valley with the skills, mentors, and support to rebuild their lives and lift up their communities.
Por la comunidad, para la comunidad ◆ Your next move starts here.
Our mission
2nd Opportunity helps people coming home from incarceration, working families, and young people build stable, successful lives through workers' rights education, leadership development, mentorship, and life skills training.
Founded by Rommel Damian, who knows firsthand what a second chance can do, we meet people where they are, con respeto, sin juicio. We're a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and every donation goes directly to programs and services.
Why the knight?
On a chessboard, the knight is the only piece that can jump over what's blocking it. It doesn't move in a straight line. It finds another way forward.
That's everyone we serve. The obstacles are real. The next move is still yours.
